Terms of Service

Porchlight calls a resident once a week for a friendly conversation about their life. Each call is turned into a written chapter on a private web page shared with the family members the resident or their family chooses.

You can sign up a parent, grandparent, or another family member, but Porchlight will not place the first call until the resident themselves has signed the enrollment and consent form. A family member’s signup alone does not authorize us to call anyone.

Porchlight is billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown at signup. You can cancel anytime; a cancellation stops future billing and future calls, and does not affect chapters already published. We do not offer partial-month refunds, but we will make it right if something on our end went wrong.

We promise to call at the time you choose, to write down what is actually said without inventing details, and to keep the page private and unlisted. We do not promise perfect writing, a particular number of stories per call, or that the page can never be seen by anyone who obtains the exact link (see the Privacy Policy’s note on unlisted pages).

The resident, or their family contact, can stop the calls at any time by telling us once, on a call, by email, or by phone. We will honor that request the same day.

Porchlight is provided as-is. We are not a medical or safety monitoring service, and calls are not a substitute for regular contact, wellness checks, or professional care. If a resident says something on a call that concerns us for their safety, our policy is to contact the family contact named on their enrollment form, but this is not a guaranteed monitoring service and should not be relied on as one.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Continued use after a posted update means you accept the new terms. We will not use a terms update to reduce the privacy protections already described to a currently enrolled resident without telling their family contact directly.
